Fernando Alonso Grabbed Hungarian GP Pole

Renault's Fernando Alonso grabbed his pole position in today's Hungarian GP after a dramatic qualifying session at Hungaroring circuit, Budapest. Felipe Massa crashed his head in his Ferrari's car that made him transferred to the hospital. As news emerged that Massa was in a stable condition, Fernando Alonso went on to beat Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel to P1 by less than a tenth of a second. Felipe Massa hit the wall in Turn 4 after his helmet was struck by debris, believed to be a piece of suspension that had come loose from Rubens Barrichello's Brawn, knocking him out.
The Hungarian GP qualifying session ended in confusion after a computer timing system failed leaving Formula 1 drivers unsure of their final places. Finally it emerged that Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber would start second and third in ING Magyar Nagydíj race. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton qualified in a season's best fourth position while Brawn's Jenson Button was eighth.
